Leigh Willhelm, PhD, LPC
Owner, Rocket City Counselor

Leigh is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing for over 20 years. Leigh obtained her MS in Counseling from Jacksonville State University and a PhD in Counseling from the University of Alabama. As an Army wife, Leigh had the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in counseling in inpatient settings, eating disorder clinics, school-based counseling services and family service centers. Leigh’s most unique job was serving as a social work consultant to the Ministry of Health in the Marshall Islands. In 2016, Leigh opened Rocket City Counselor and loves the opportunity to serve clients of all ages. Since opening Rocket City Counselor, Leigh has also obtained specialized training in EMDR. In addition to her professional service to individual seeking support through counseling, Leigh and her husband opened and operate a special ministry, Project Abundant Life, in the New Hope community. Project Abundant Life provides housing, mentoring and a place for single moms to gain a fresh start in life. Leigh and her family attend Cove Church.

Ashley Jones, LPC-S Independent Contractor,
Rocket City Counselor

Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 14 years of experience in the counseling field. Ashley obtained her MA degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama in 2004. Upon graduation, Ashley worked for our local community mental health center until joining Rocket City Counselor in 2016. Throughout her career, Ashley has served as a counselor, manager and director of counseling programs that serve children, adults and the elderly who experience both mental health and substance use disorders. Ashley is also a board-approved supervisor for counselors seeking full licensure in the counseling field. Ashley has served as a psychiatric screener in a local hospital, providing assessments and support to children, teens and adults in mental health crises. Since joining Rocket City Counselor, she has also obtained specialized training in EMDR. Ashley and her family attend Cove Church. She also serves on the Board of Directors for HopeSprings Counseling.

Drew Helveston, LICSW, PIP
Independent Contractor, Rocket City Counselor

Drew is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who has been providing counseling services in our local community for the last 6 years. Drew obtained his Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. After graduation, Drew began working with children, teens and families experiencing difficulty with behavioral problems, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and issues occurring from abuse or neglect through our local community mental health center. Drew has obtained specialized training and experience in working with children who are dealing with problematic sexual behaviors. Drew and his family attend Cove Church where Drew serves in the middle school ministry program as a small group leader.
